"This annual event is designed to promote and further patriotic education in our community; stimulate love of our country and flag and to encourage vibrant citizenship," said Lt. Col. Richard Crossley, director of FWISD's JROTC programs.
The District’s Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) and Junior Cadet Corps (JCC) joined active duty and senior ROTC unit color guards, veteran, patriotic and other organizations in the ceremonial parade of colors. Each FWISD unit was expected to have two color bearers who carried the U.S. flag and their unit flag in the march.
Massing of Colors was first held Armistice Day in 1922. MOWW chapters host the ceremony throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Click here to learn more about Massing of Colors.
