Texas Rangers Present Southwest Softball With Big Check

What: Texas Rangers Foundation presents check to Southwest HS Softball

When: Friday, January, 18, 2019; 2 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Where: Library, Southwest High School, 4100 Altamesa Blvd., Fort Worth

Summary: On Friday, January 18 the Texas Rangers and members of the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation will be at Fort Worth ISD’s Southwest High School to present a $2,000 check to the softball team to be used to purchase new batting cage nets.

Alex Johnson, head coach of the softball team, applied for the grant in June and received the award at a presentation at Globe Life Park in August. This event will be the official presentation to the student-athletes and will also allow the young players to hold a question and answer session with Rangers players and personnel.

Ray Casas, Manager of Programs & Community Outreach for the Texas Rangers, and a 1992 alumnus of Southwest High School, will be present for the event. Texas Rangers Jose Trevino and Jeffrey Springs will be the player representatives for this presentation and Emily Jones, the Rangers reporter for Fox Sport Southwest, will be the event emcee.
