FWISD Students Qualify for HOSA State Contest

Nearly 40 Fort Worth ISD students are advancing to the HOSA Future Health Professionals state contest this March. HOSA-Future Health Professionals, formerly known as Health Occupations Students of America, empowers students to become global healthcare leaders through education, collaboration, and experience, according to its website.

Students from the Texas Academy of Biomedical Sciences and Trimble Tech High School are representing the District at the Spring Leadership Conference, March 28-30 at San Antonio’s Henry B. González Convention Center.

TABS, which has more than 30 students advancing to the state contest, is sending its largest contingent ever. One student, Tracy Dang, will represent TABS as the HOSA Area 5 secretary and attend officer training at the conference.  Two students from Trimble Tech are also headed for the state contest.

The students qualified for the state competition at the Texas HOSA Area 5 Spring Leadership Conference, which TABS hosted January 25-26 at Tarrant County College—Trinity River.
