STAAR Test Dates and Tips
State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) testing for students in the fourth-, fifth-, seventh- and eighth-grades, and at the high school level will take place April 9-18 in the Fort Worth ISD and across the state.
Parents: help your students prepare for performing well on state exams by:
- Making sure they get a good night’s rest
- Offering a healthy and nutritious breakfast
- Making sure they dressed comfortably, complying with Fort Worth ISD dress code
- Encourage them to think positively about the test and their abilities
- Remind them to review their work for mistakes
During testing, visitors are prohibited on most school campuses. Please check with your local campus before visiting on days when state exams are being administered.
The following STAAR exams are scheduled:
Tuesday, April 9
Grades 4 and 7 writing, English I and Grades 5 and 8 mathematics*
Wednesday, April 10
Grades 5 and 8 Reading*
Thursday, April 11
English II
Friday, April 12
All make-up sessions for paper STAAR tests administered earlier in the week and online make-up sessions for Grades 4 and 7 writing, English I and II must be completed on this day.
*= All online STAAR make-up sessions for Grades 5 and 8 mathematics and reading must be completed by Thursday, April 18.
