FWISD Week 6: Eastern Hills And Benbrook Playing For First

The opportunity is there for Eastern Hills to take early control of the District 4-5A race with Thursday night’s showdown against Justin-Northwest. Both teams aiming for a 2-0 start in district, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. at Clark Stadium.

The Highlanders (3-2) are coming off a nail biter, slipping past Polytechnic 44-42 last week. Eastern Hills quarterback Adama Hudson continues to the lead the attack, proving equally effective through the air and on the ground.

Justin (1-4) won this matchup a year ago, and the Texans are coming off their first win of the season last week against Southwest. North Side (2-3, 1-0), off this week, is the only other undefeated team in District 4-5A.

In 6-4A, Benbrook (3-2, 1-0) also has first place on the line going against Lake Worth (3-2, 1-0) on Friday night at Clark Stadium. The Bobcats, who opened league play with a win over Western Hills, beat Lake Worth last year on their way to the playoffs.

Also, in 6-4A on Friday night, Western Hills (2-3, 0-1) faces the other district unbeaten team, Kennedale (2-3, 1-0), on the road. Dunbar (0-4, 0-0) is the homecoming foe for Diamond Hill-Jarvis (3-2, 0-1) at Farrington Field.
