World Languages Institute Wins Sixth-Grade Whiz Quiz

WLI winners World Languages Institute (WLI) took the Fort Worth ISD Sixth-Grade Whiz Quiz Championship title after defeating McLean 6th Grade Center in the finals match Tuesday night.

Earlier, WLI beat Daggett Montessori in the first semi-final. McLean 6th topped the Young Women’s Leadership Academy in the second semi-final.

The evening was a learning event for many students. Culinary Arts students from North Side High School treated the audience to gourmet meatballs, deviled eggs, and grapefruit bars. And, the Southwest High School Jazz Ensemble entertained between matches. Gold Seal Advanced Media Program students took part in the live production of the competition.

The middle school matches are Wednesday, January 22, at 5:00 p.m.

  • Semi-final #1 Daggett Montessori v. Applied Learning Academy
  • Semi-final #2 McLean Middle v. Riverside Middle
  • Finals match immediately after 

Hmclean 6 igh school finals will be held Thursday, January 23, at 4:30 p.m.

  • Semi-final #1 Texas Academy of Biomedical Sciences (TABS) v. Arlington Heights High School
  • Semi-final #2 Paschal High School v. Young Men’s Leadership Academy
  • Finals match immediately after

Media personality Jeff Jamison and Star-Telegram columnist Bud Kennedy are the match moderators.
