Message from Superintendent Scribner About FWISD Network

computer server farm Hello, colleagues:

Tuesday morning our District’s domain controller server was impacted by a malware attack.  Quick action by our technology team protected our personal information and that of our students.

Our technology team, along with CISCO and Microsoft, are working very carefully and deliberately to bring our systems back online.  As a result we may remain offline for the rest of this week and, quite possibly, throughout spring break.

We know this presents some hardships and “work-arounds” for many of you, but this is the prudent thing to do.  Please know your patience and cooperation are much appreciated.

The District is also in communication with law enforcement – both the Fort Worth Police Department and the FBI -- to investigate this very serious situation.

We will continue to keep you updated and – let me reiterate -- no student or teacher personal information have been stolen or are at risk.

Thanks, again – and please have a very happy and healthy spring break!

Kent P. Scribner,

Superintendent Fort Worth ISD
