State of Public Education to feature Fort Worth, Keller ISD Superintendents, and Tarrant County College Chancellor

WHO: Dr. Kent Paredes Scribner, Fort Worth ISD Superintendent; Dr. Rick Westfall, Keller ISD Superintendent; and Chancellor Eugene Giovannini, Tarrant County College. 

Summary: The leaders of three major Tarrant County educational institutions will address the 17th annual State of Education sponsored by The Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, November 5, 2020.

Fort Worth ISD Superintendent Kent Scribner, Keller Superintendent Rick Westfall and Tarrant County College Chancellor Eugene Giovannini will conduct a virtual conversation from Fort Worth ISD’s newly-opened Teaching and Learning Center on Fort Worth’s eastside.

Dr. Scribner will introduce a video, titled “Pathways and Partners,” outlining the FWISD collaboration with businesses all across the city. His remark’s will “discuss what’s going on in public education – the good things, the great things, and the things that we can make better together.”

Other parts of the panel discussion will highlight:

  • How the districts and TCC are dealing with COVID-19 and what the future holds for both in-person and virtual learning
  • How businesses can help shape the curriculum for students based on needs
  • Programs and opportunities that link the business community to learning institutions
      • Workforce gaps and how to address them
