Fort Worth ISD Introduces 2020-21 Teaching Chairs of Excellence Nettie Scott, Leadership Academy at Forest Oak Middle School

(Thursday, December 17, 2020) -- The Fort Worth ISD, with the generous support of community partners, is once again recognizing outstanding teachers as the District’s Academic Chairs for Teaching Excellence

Modeled after the university-level Chair program, there are 16 categories of distinction. Honorees receive the title of Chair for Teaching Excellence for one year as well as a $5,000 honorarium.

When Nettie Scott walked out of the Leadership Academy at Forest Oak Middle School one afternoon, it took her a few seconds to realize why a crowd was cheering for her. She soon realized she had been named the 2020 Lockheed Martin Chair for Teaching Excellence in Middle School STEM.
