FWISD WEEK 10: North Side and Dunbar can clinch playoff berths
The race is going down to the wire in District 4-5A, with North Side closing in on its first playoff appearance in 40 years. The Steers are sitting second in district at 3-1 with two games remaining, including Saturday meeting with Polytechnic (1-3) at Handley Field.
North Side, which last reached the postseason in 1979, would lock down a playoff berth by beating the Parrots. The Steers are also 4-4 overall this season, their most wins since 2008.
Despite being 1-3 in district, Poly hasn’t been eliminated from postseason contention. Fort Worth ISD teams Eastern Hills (3-2), O.D. Wyatt (2-2) an0d Southwest (2-2) are also in the mix for one of the four playoffs spots from 4-5A. Wyatt and Southwest square off in a huge matchup Saturday at Clark Stadium.
Dunbar (3-1) would secure a playoff spot with a win in Friday 6-4A clash with Western Hills (0-4) at Clark Stadium. The Wildcats are currently second place in district.

4-6A: Arlington Martin vs. Paschal, Handley Field, 7 p.m.
6-4A: Benbrook vs. Kennedale, Kennedale Wildcat Stadium, 7:30 p.m.
6-4A: Diamond Hill-Jarvis vs. Castleberry, W. O. Barnes Memorial Stadium, 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, November 2
4-5A: O. D. Wyatt vs. Southwest, Clark Stadium, 2 p.m.
4-5A: Polytechnic vs. North Side, Handley Field, 11 a.m.
