Meet the Teacher and Sixth/Ninth Grade Camp Events

The 2021 – 2022 school year is quickly approaching and there is a lot to learn!   Here at BMHS, we pride ourselves in our motto:  Family all In!  You (students and parents) are the main part of this awesome family! To make the transition into the school year easier, we have set up half day camps for our incoming sixth graders and newest freshman to come by themselves. There, they will have the opportunity to learn all about their school home and familiarize themselves with the facility – including the new middle school gym and fine arts spaces as well as new art and world language spaces in the high school building that will open this fall.  This will be followed that evening with a Meet-the-Teacher event for the whole family for these two grades.  Additionally, we will have come and go Meet-the-Teacher events for 7th, 8th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades Here are the details:

  • 6th and 9th Grade Camp (students only)
    • Date: Thursday, Aug. 12
    • Time: 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
    • Dress: Comfortable: jeans/shorts/t-shirts (there may be a painting activity so dress accordingly)
    • Things to Bring: Your excitement for a new school adventure and $3 for a snow cone
  • 6th and 9th Grade Meet the Teacher (the whole family)
    • Date: Thursday, Aug. 12
    • Time: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
    • Where: 6th grade in the middle School gym and 9th grade in the high school auditorium. This is where we will start our evening with a quick welcome and key introductions. Families will then be released to follow their sixth grader around to their new classes.
  • 7th, 8th, 10th, 11th and 12th Meet the Teacher
    • Date: Tuesday, Aug. 17
    • Time: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
    • Where: Entire building; families will walk with their students to each of their classes to meet their teachers
  • Special notes:
  • If your incoming sixth or ninth graders cannot attend the camp, we still encourage the whole family to join us for Meet-the-Teacher. We will have a station set up to pick up schedules at that time which will help students navigate their new schedule.
  • Please make sure you have registered for school this fall. If you have not, here is the web address to access to do that:
    • It is a pretty quick process. You should have received your child’s required Snapcode for this in a letter that was sent out a couple weeks ago. If you are unable to find the Snapcode, please call the school for assistance.  Additionally, we are here to help with registration.  Beginning the week of July 26, you can come to the school in person to submit verification of residency (if unable to submit online) and/or get assistance with the registration.
  • Spirit wear will be on sale during all Meet-the-Teacher events
  • PTA and the Athletic Booster will be present as well for families to sign up
  • Middle school students will be expected to be in uniform (same as elementary school with the addition of a dark green polo style shirt).
    • New this year: Students will be allowed to wear a spirit shirt each day in place of the standard uniform.
  • All students in any middle school PE or Athletic class: There is a uniform for this class.  You may place orders (if you haven’t done so already) at Meet-the-Teacher. Please know that you are also welcome to provide your own: grey t-shirt (dry weave or cotton) and black athletic shorts.

We look forward to meeting all our new Bobcats and their families!  Let’s make the 2021-2022 school year an AMAZING year!

See you soon!
