Shout-out to Mrs. DeLaCruz for high levels of engagement during her lesson on foundations of multiplication. Her students were introduced to the skill, then asked to physically act out the groups in a multiplication equation. Mrs. DeLaCruz not only got students up and moving to physically demonstrate this concept, but prior to releasing them, she reviewed her procedures for the activity reminding students of ways to be respectful to one another while moving around the room.
A physcial, or "hands on", approach to learning increases comprehension, engagement, and retenion of new informaiton. Way to go Mrs. DeLaCruz!
