District Hosts Choices Expo November 9-10
The Fort Worth ISD highlighted its Gold Seal Programs and Schools of Choice at its annual Choices Expo, November 9 and 10 at Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center.
Choices Expo is the place where hundreds of families and students come to explore pathways to college and careers.
“It’s your opportunity to see programs close up, ask questions and get assistance in filling out the Gold Seal application,” said Superintendent Kent P. Scribner.
Computers and on-site assistance were available for families looking to complete their Gold Seal application while attending Choices Expo, and multiple people took advantage of the service.
Online Gold Seal applications are now available and students. Because all applications are now submitted online, it’s extremely important that parents have an active email address prior to starting the application process. District employees submitting applications for their own children may use their active directory login.
More than 1,500 applications were completed and submitted for the District's Gold Seal Progams and Schools by the morning of Monday, November 12, said Karen Ponder, Programs of Choice coordinator.
Applications are due no later than 5 p.m. December 7.
After the Thanksgiving Break, Gold Seal representatives will host Application Help Date events, November 28, December 3-7 at Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center where families can complete online Gold Seal applications and ask questions about the process.
Application Help Date Events are slated for:
- 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 28
- 8 a.m.- 1 p.m. December 3-4
- 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. December 5-7
