You can check buying school supplies off your summer to-do-list! 

The Fort Worth ISD will provide free supplies for every elementary school student enrolled for the 2023-2024 academic year.

FWISD Board of Education trustees approved the authorization of more than $2.1 million in federal Elementary and Secondary School (ESSER) funds to support the school supply purchase at its May 23 meeting.

All supplies will be purchased prior to the first day of school and will be distributed to students the first week of classes. Each school supply pack is grade specific.

This is the third year FWISD is covering school supply costs for elementary school students. District officials say the purchase ensures every elementary student, regardless of income level, has immediate access to tools for instruction on the first day of school.

The 2023-2024 school year begins Monday, Aug. 14.
