Work from the 2017 Bond on Display
Visitors to Fort Worth ISD’s Arlington Heights High School on Wednesday, October 27, saw the historic school’s recent transformation --and a promise of more to come.
The event was part of the District’s “Rediscover Fort Worth ISD” initiative to showcase new construction at FWISD schools as a result of the Capital Improvement Program approved by voters in 2017.
Student-led tours revealed new science and agriculture science facilities, classrooms, labs, and workshop areas perfect for hands-on learning as well as a dynamic two-story library/media center with college-like collaborative spaces. Guests also saw new modern learning spaces for career and technical education, fine arts, JROTC and special education.
The celebration began with remarks fromSuperintendent Kent P. Scribner andBoard of Education District 5 Trustee C.J. Evans. The Arlington Heights band and cheerleaders offered an extra, festive element.
Construction continues throughout the campus, built in 1937. The renovation project encompasses 93,000 square feet, including the new 47,000 square foot science building and 7,250 square feet of space in the new agricultural science building.
