Fort Worth ISD Superintendent Pre-K Request to the Faith-Based Community

As Fort Worth ISD prepares for Pre-K and Kindergarten registration starting Thursday, April 1, Superintendent Kent Paredes Scribner has written a letter being sent to more than 400 churches and faith-based organizations.

The letter, along with flyers, asks faith-based leaders to support Pre-K and Kindergarten registration by spreading the word to their congregations; to consider adding this information to bulletins or social media accounts; and share information during the announcements time of worship service.

The District’s Pre-K program is free of charge to everyone, and there’s a space for every child. The easy, online registration for new Pre-K and Kindergarten students begins April 1.

“Our places of worship are providing so much support to families and the community right now. We believe in investing in our students early, and I value their unwavering leadership and commitment to our schools, students and the community,” said Dr. Scribner.

Pre-K and Kindergarten are vitally important to a child’s development and school readiness. Children will have early language, literacy, and math experiences to better prepare them for academic rigor in later grades. Attending Pre-K also helps young student to gain a sense of self, exploration, discovery, and confidence. Fort Worth ISD’s program offers a safe environment, high-quality integrated curriculum, highly qualified teachers, and ongoing assessments with progress monitoring.

Parents can use their smartphone or tablet to register at home. Visit to start the online registration process AND to use our school locator to find the campus closest to them.
