Summary: Parents and community members are invited to attend a multimedia discussion regarding the upcoming Penny Swap/Bond election at 6 p.m. October 23 in the Fort Worth ISD Board Room.

Fort Worth Superintendent Kent P. Scribner will present specifics of two propositions before voters on the Nov. 7 ballot.

The presentation, titled “Commitment to Graduating Our Students College and Career Ready” will explain the District’s work in areas including early literacy and middle years’ math. Other talking points will include key impacts the District has made in enhancing student achievement. 

If approved, both the Penny Swap and Bond Election would result in security, technology and instructional equipment upgrades at Fort Worth ISD elementary and middle schools, alleviating school overcrowding and accommodating student growth, supporting upgrades at neighborhood high schools and funding for specialized rigorous schools and programs. The presentation will include a video overview of the propositions and an opportunity for questions at the event’s conclusion.

The event, hosted by the Fort Worth ISD Council of PTAs, coincides with the first day of early voting.
