The literacy night begins at 6 p.m. at Southwest High School, 4100 Altamesa Blvd.

Families from the Southwest pyramid are invited to take part in this interactive event which will offer free books and literacy activities for children in pre-kindergarten through the sixth-grade. Children participating in activities will be eligible for raffle drawings.

Students representing the pyramid schools and the Southwest High are slated to perform, and snacks will be sold by the PTSA. A literacy raffle organized by teachers will present one lucky attendee with the grand prize electronic giveaway.

The new and gently-used books being donated to children were collected through a book drive by the Southwest pyramid schools and a generous donation from FWISD Literacy Department.
