New Materials Available for FWISD’s Learning At Home
The Fort Worth ISD launched the next phase of it Learning At Home program Monday, March 23, 2020 – grade-level instructional materials for more than 10 content areas.
The materials, aligned with what FWISD students were previously learning in classes and the TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge & Skills), offer students tools for growing academically while away from the classroom. While this work is not graded, it offers students “ a more robust learning experience as we work together during this national crisis,” said Jerry Moore, FWISD chief academic officer.
“We know the shift to online learning can be challenging,” Mr. Moore said. “We ask that you pace yourself; we have provided enough materials to engage students for the next two weeks.”
To get started with the Learning At Home process, students must complete three easy steps:
- Reset your student password at fwisd.org/studentpasswords
- Follow instructions for logging on to My FWISD at fwisd.org/myfwisdguide
- Log onto fwisd.org/learningathome and start learning!
Learning At Home activities and resources for the following areas are available:
- Early Learning
- English/Reading
- Math
- Social Studies
- Science
- Visual and Performing Arts
- Physical Education/Health
- World Language
- English Language Learners – additional instructional resources
- Career and Technical Education
- Social and Emotional Learning
The content aligns with District resources such as Pearson, Achieve 3000, and Edgenuity.
Should the District shutdown continue beyond April 3, additional lesson plans and resources will be shared with students and their families on the Learning at Home webpage.
