Know the Plan: Attending a Fort Worth ISD Graduation
Fort Worth ISD high school graduations ceremonies will begin this week and District officials want students, families and staff to be mindful of the forecast of temperatures reaching the upper 90s. The District is taking precautions at the outdoor venues, but also reminds others they have the option of watching the event live online as it happens.
Between Wednesday, June 16 and Sunday, June 20, there will be at least two graduations each day, with as many as four commencement ceremonies scheduled on some of those dates. All graduations are scheduled to be outdoors at eitherFarrington Field or Clark Stadium.
Ceremonies will begin at 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
FWISD has taken some immediate precautions in response to the heat warnings:
Ceremonies will begin on time and be conducted efficiently as to minimize everyone’s exposure to the elements.
All attendees are advised to dress appropriately for the heat, and for the solemnity of the ceremony.
Multiple misting devices are being set up on the stadium fields for the benefit of the graduates.
Cold water is available as spectators enter the stadiums.
Cooling stations are available for anyone who becomes overheated and medical personnel will be standing by.
In addition, because the climate has been declared unhealthy, spectators may want to consider if they should attend in person. The District is making available a live video stream of each graduation exercise.
Regardless of the time the ceremony is being held, if it is occurring at Farrington Field you can watch the ceremony on the FWISD News YouTube channel by accessing this link – Farrington Field Live Stream.
If the ceremony is taking place at Clark Stadium you can watch the ceremony live through the FWISD EDTV YouTube channel by accessing this link – Clark Stadium Live Stream.
