Fort Worth ISD Recognizes 134 Campus Teachers of the Year with Festive Drive-Through Celebration

Last week, FWISD celebrated the District’s 134 Campus Teachers of the Year with a unique drive-through event.  The teachers drove through the Fort Worth ISD Administration parking lot with horns honking, signs, balloons, and administrative staff cheering them on.

Each teacher received a personalized plaque and a $50 gift card from Central Market, the Title sponsor for both Campus and District Teacher of the Year Programs.  Superintendent Dr. Kent Scribner greeted each teacher individually and personally delivered the gift, posing for pictures.  The atmosphere was festive and spirited.  Several principals joined in the fun by chauffeuring their Campus Teacher of the Year.

Entertainment was provided by the North Side Mariachi for one event, and the Paschal Jazz Band livened up the second event.

You can watch the fun in this short video as well as photo galleries from Tuesday and Thursday

Five elementary teachers and five secondary teachers were selected to move forward to the next step in the process and will interview for District Teachers of the Year this week.  The two winners will be announced in early May.

The celebration was in place of an in-person reception that was not able to be held due to COVID-19 restrictions.
