FWISD Board President Selected 2018 Health Care Hero
Fort Worth ISD Board President Tobi Jackson is a Fort Worth Business Press 2018 Health Care Hero.
The Fort Worth Business Press will recognize Mrs. Jackson and Judge Glen Whitley at an awards dinner February 8, at City Club of Fort Worth for their collaborative efforts expanding Asthma 411 throughout the city and county.
The Asthma 411 program, an agreement between FWISD and the University of North Texas Health Science Center, aims to improve absenteeism and health for students with asthma. School nurses in FWISD schools are equipped with training, equipment and medication for immediately responding to a child experiencing an asthma attack, which in turn reduces the number of calls for ambulance.
Other Asthma 411 collaborators include the Cook Children’s Health Care System and John Peter Smith Health Network. For more information about the Asthma 411 program, visit http://www.asthma411.org/.
Annually, Fort Worth Business Press recognizes medical excellence practiced by physicians, administrators and volunteers with its Health Care Hero award. Prospective Health Care Hero recipients are nominated by medical and business community professionals.
