Virtual Job, Career Event Aims to Prepare Graduating Seniors for Workforce
A virtual job and career event is slated for graduating students between the ages of 18 to 21, June 27, 29, and 30.
The FWISD Office of Innovation is partnering with the RiseUp Initiative through Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County to host the virtual event that will include discussions about job opportunities, internships and resources.
Sessions are slated on Zoom for:
- 10 a.m. Saturday June 27
- 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday, June 29
- 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 30
The event focuses on three “Es” in a young adult’s transition to self-sufficiency-- empowerment, education and employment.
Opportunities available at the virtual event include:
- Assistance developing a career path
- Support finding immediate employment (job leads, interview preparation and other services)
- Obtaining short-term vocational certification(s)
- Work Experience/Internships to support certification(s)
