District employees, parents, community, and business representatives all serve on the committee. The School Board will consider DAC nominees for Places 13-21 for appointment to the committee.
DAC is strictly advisory. Each year, the committee evaluates the District’s academic progress and assists staff in making appropriate changes to the FWISD Educational Improvement Plan. Other matters reviewed by the committee include the District budget, calendars, professional development plans, new educational programs, and initiatives. Meetings are open to the public, but only committee members may vote and/or participate in discussions.
