Nominate Candidates For the District Advisory Committee
Are you a Fort Worth ISD (FWISD) parent, community or business, representative interested in serving on the District Advisory Committee (DAC)? Nominations/applications are due by 5 p.m. Friday, April 29.
Candidate nominations are now open for the following committee vacancies:
- Place 13, Elementary School Parent
- Place 14, Middle School Parent
- Place 15, High School Parent
- Place 16, Special Education Parent
- Place 17, School of Choice, Advanced Academics Program of Choice Parent
- Places 18-19, Community Representative
- Places 20-21, Business Representative
District employees are not considered for parent representative vacancies, and parents may not be appointed as community or business representatives.

The more than 20-member DAC meets four to six times annually to advise the Superintendent and the FWISD Board of Education on educational plans, goals, performance objectives, and major classroom instructional programs. District employees, parents, community, and business representatives all serve on the committee. The School Board will consider DAC nominees for Places 13-21 for appointment to the committee.
DAC is strictly advisory. Each year, the committee evaluates the District’s academic progress and assists staff in making appropriate changes to the FWISD Educational Improvement Plan. Other matters reviewed by the committee include the District budget, calendars, professional development plans, new educational programs, and initiatives. Meetings are open to the public, but only committee members may vote and/or participate in discussions.
