Patriot Day 2019- Remembering 9/11

Eastern Hills High School held a ceremony remembering the tragic events of September 11th, 2001.  The Highlander JROTC, Fire Science Technology students, and members of the Highlander Band participated in the event.  Assistant Principal Marcus Benton and Chief David Lance spoke about the events of that day, how it impacted their lives, and honored the heroism of first responders and military members.  Battalion Commander Jose Moreno and Executive Officer Constance Parker guided the JROTC students through a tribute, which included; the launch of four white balloons to recognize the victims on the four aircraft hijacked during the attack, three balloons to recognize the three thousand victims in the Pentagon and the World Trade Center, raising the US and Texas  flags to half mast, and the playing of TAPS.
