FWISD Slates District-Wide ACT Testing Day Tuesday
Juniors at Fort Worth ISD high schools are taking the ACT college entrance exam during the school day, Tuesday, April 2, at no cost.
This is the first time FWISD juniors will take the ACT during school hours. The District has administered the SAT during the school day, the last seven years. FWISD also offers students access to the PSAT and Texas Success Initiative (TSI) exams.
Students were registered for the ACT by the District, and each individual high school campus ordered the exams, said Brenda Carter, coordinator IV for the College and Career Readiness and Advanced, Accelerated and Innovative Learning (AAIL) departments.
District College and Career Readiness officials say access to the exams during the school day not only exposes students to college admissions tests but also offers a[n]:
- Quick indicator of academic preparedness
- Identifier of whether students are ready for more rigorous coursework
- Official college admissions score report as a junior
Information about the April 2 exam was distributed to high school juniors and their parents by campus college and career readiness coordinators earlier this semester.
For more details, contact the college and career readiness coordinator at your local high school or Ms. Carter at 817-814-2591.
