Most Fort Worth ISD schools will return to normal operations on Wednesday, February 24.
(Monday, February 22, 2021) -- After several days of assessment and repairs following our week-long winter storm, most Fort Worth ISD schools will return to normal operations on Wednesday, February 24.
At this point, only three campuses will not resume in-person instruction on Wednesday, February 24: Bonnie Brae Elementary, Westpark Elementary, and Tanglewood Elementary. Additional repair work is needed, but all three campuses will offer virtual only instruction Wednesday- Friday, February 24-26. School leaders will keep parents informed of further status updates.
“Fort Worth ISD employees spent several days last week and worked all this past weekend to assess and repair any damage caused by the prolonged freezing weather as well as to restore connectivity,” said Superintendent Kent P. Scribner. “Their work continues Monday and Tuesday as they ensure schools can once again offer in-person instruction as well as asynchronous education.”
While other campuses may have sustained some minor damage, they are safe for in-person instruction. Some teachers and in-person students may be required to utilize different classrooms than usual and temporary accommodations may need to be implemented while repairs are being made. However, the safety and security of students and staff remain the District’s top priority.
