Daggett Montessori Wins Sixth-Grade Whiz Quiz
Daggett Montessori won Fort Worth ISD’s 2018-19 Sixth-Grade Whiz Quiz Championship title after defeating McLean 6th Grade in the finals match Monday night. Earlier in the evening, McLean 6th beat J.P. Elder in the first semi-final. Daggett Montessori topped Stripling in the second semi-final.
Culinary Arts students from Trimble Technical High School treated the audience to meatless “meatballs,” Italian pinwheels and panna cotta. Kroger sponsored the culinary segment, which featured Kroger’s Simple Truth healthy food items.
The Southwest High School Jazz Ensemble entertained between matches. Gold Seal Advanced Media Program students took part in the live production of the competition. Pizza Snob provided food for the crew.
Star-Telegram columnist Bud Kennedy and CBS 11 meteorologist Jeff Jamison are the match moderators for three nights of competition.
