FWISD Honors Superintendent's Scholars

What: Superintendent’s Scholars award ceremony

When: Thursday, November 10, 2016; Reception at 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.; Award Ceremony 7 p.m.

Where: Texas Christian University, Brown-Lupton University Union, BLUU Ballroom, 2901 Stadium Drive, Fort Worth

Who: Superintendent Dr. Kent P. Scribner, Board of Education members, Chief of Equity and Excellence Sherry Breed, assistant superintendent, directors, principals, teachers, students and parents.

Summary: The Fort Worth Independent School District will honor 346 students as Superintendent Scholars during a special awards ceremony on Thursday, November 10, 2016, at the Brown-Lupton University Union, BLUU Ballroom, on the campus of Texas Christian University.

Superintendent Dr. Kent P. Scribner will present students with certificates and stoles.

Being selected for this distinguished honor places the students in the top academic echelon of the District. 

The students are being honored for achievement as either a National Merit Semifinalist or National Merit Commended student; an AP Scholar or AP Scholar with Honor; an AP Scholar with Distinction or National AP Scholar; or a National Achievement Scholar or National Hispanic Scholar.

One AP Teacher Scholar from each high school campus will be honored for his or her AP teaching and influence.
