Fort Worth ISD Council of PTAs to hold Founders’ Day Luncheon
Fort Worth, Texas - The annual Fort Worth ISD Council of PTAs Founders’ Day Luncheon will be held Thursday, February 9, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Amon Carter Center at Lena Pope. Former Facebook executive and 1989 Eastern Hills High School graduate, Kim Garrett, will be the featured guest speaker.
PTA Founders’ Day celebrates the legacy and work of the PTA founders—Alice McLellan Birney, Phoebe Apperson Hearst and Selena Sloan Butler. At the national level the PTA observes February 17 as a time to reflect and take pride in the achievements of the founders, and a time to renew member commitment to be:
A powerful voice for all children;
A relevant resource for parents; and
A strong advocate for public education.
The Lena Pope campus is located at 3200 Sanguinet Street in Fort Worth.
