Substitute Teacher Incentive Plan

Fort Worth, Texas - The Fort Worth ISD is launching a Substitute Teacher Graduated Incentive Plan aimed at rewarding those substitute teachers who have been consistently part of the District family, as well as increasing the size of the substitute pool.

Current substitute teachers, and new substitute teachers hired before March 20, are eligible for this plan. Substitutes would receive additional pay at the end of June based on the number of full day assignments they work 

The plan outline is as follows:




95% $20/day

90% $15/day

85% $10/day


The plan starts February 27 and runs through May 31 (61 days with students).


95% = 58-61 days    $20/day = $1160-$1220 Paid with June paycheck.

90% = 55-57 days    $15/day = $810-$855 Paid with June paycheck

85% = 52-54 days    $10/day = $520-$540 Paid with June paycheck


  • All FWISD substitute teachers are eligible for the incentive when working as regular teacher substitutes, long-term substitutes, pyramid substitutes, extra help substitutes, compliance substitutes, etc.
  • Taxable incentive pay will be paid in the June paycheck.
  • New substitute teachers hired prior to March 20 will be eligible, but the number of days required will be recalculated on a pro rata basis.
