Principal Reception to Highlight Fort Worth ISD and Teach For America Partnership

Fort Worth ISD and Teach For America (TFA) will highlight their long-standing partnership at a reception for school principals at the Professional Development Center May 15. In addition to campus principals, members of the Board of Education, district-level administrators, TFA executive leadership, and TFA alumni will attend the reception.

TFA was founded in 1989 with a mission to "enlist, develop, and mobilize as many as possible of our nation's most promising future leaders to grow and strengthen the movement for educational equity and excellence." The organization recruits and selects top talent from around the country to serve as teachers. Numerous TFA alumni teach in Fort Worth ISD.

The reception will include time for attendees to meet TFA alumni and will help principals learn about the relationship between the District and TFA. The reception is an opportunity to re-introduce TFA to school principals so they can hire TFA teachers on their campuses.

There is a May 1 deadline to RSVP for the reception. For more information, contact Freida Lee or Susan Rhoten, 817-814-2742.
