Fort Worth ISD Celebrated Exemplary Volunteer Leaders
Fort Worth, Texas – Exemplary volunteer leaders and staff were honored for their altruism, teamwork, and commitment to education during Fort Worth ISD’s annual volunteer appreciation breakfast last Saturday, May 20.
As a District, FWISD proclaims the great importance it places on parent and community volunteers by hosting an annual breakfast where exemplary volunteer leaders come together to represent their schools or groups. Volunteers leaders attending this annual event symbolize the many qualities that volunteers bring to our schools: dedication, commitment to excellence, strong collaboration with others, positive attitude, creative ideas, and passion.
As members of an organization that is at the forefront of transformation, they were updated by Superintendent Kent Scribner on new initiatives, innovative approaches to training and teaching, new partnerships, and many great stories of success.
In addition, Dr. Scribner shared examples of outstanding and creative work done by volunteers all over FWISD with the guests. Stories about admirable parent volunteers like Rosalinda and Arturo Martinez, groups like the Dads of Dunbar, faith-based groups like McKinney Church, and the FWISD Council of PTAs inspired the audience. They highlighted the impact of their service on the students as they develop precious relationships, bring a glimpse of hope to our students, create more opportunity for them to succeed, and make a difference in the life of a child.
Guests were received by the Eastern Hills High School JROTC Cadets and the music was performed for them during the event by the Paschal High School Orchestra and North Side High School Mariachi. HR Block graciously provided food for the student musicians.
The event concluded with a sincere statement of thanks to volunteers and staff for contributing to building prosperity for all through education, making Fort Worth a great place to live, and for shining a light of inspiration on others as they volunteer at FWISD schools.
