District Sponsors Two “Neighborhood Summer Learning Events”

Neighborhood families are being invited to attend two inaugural “Summer Learning Events” to learn more about how they can help their students’ academic achievement.  Fort Worth ISD parents and students will be provided learning strategies they can practice at home with the help of tools such as Achieve 3000, Smarty Ants, and ReadyRosie, as well as general back to school information.

The events are scheduled for:

Tuesday, July 25, 2017
5:30 - 7:30 PM
Cici’s Pizza: 950 N Beach St.
Fort Worth, TX 76111

Thursday, July 27, 2017
5:30 - 7:30 PM
Chick-fil-A: 3580 Altamesa Blvd.
Fort Worth, TX 76133

The Fort Worth ISD Curriculum Division and Family Communications Department are combining forces to reach families with these smaller, targeted events, and plan many more to follow.

The gatherings support the District mission of “preparing ALL students for success in college, career, and community leadership,” as well as our 100X25FWTX goal of ensuring 100% of third-graders reading on grade level or above by the 2025.  The latter is a community-wide effort led by Superintendent Kent P. Scribner, Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price, and BNSF Chairman Matt Rose and supported through the collective impact work of the Fort Worth Literacy Partnership.
