It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas Around FWISD

The Christmas tree in the Fort Worth ISD Administration Building is up just in time for the start of the holiday season.

On Thursday, November 16, students from the District’s Transition Center Life Instruction and Functional Training (LIFT) Program decorated the 12-foot artificial tree with approximately 500 ornaments in the District’s signature New Day Blue and Courage Red colors. The LIFT Program prepares students with disabilities for the transition to supported employment and community participation.fwisd tree

"Our students had an absolutely great time decorating the Christmas tree this year,” said Ronald Lopez, a teacher and coordinator for the Transition Center LIFT Program. “The LIFT students and staff always look forward each year to participating in the tree decorating and the many other events throughout the year in the administration building."

White lights sparkle all around the tree, which is adorned with glittering bows, poinsettias, apples and snowflakes. Atop the tree is a bright red bow, and underneath are neatly wrapped boxes.

It will be the staging area for many of the holiday concert performances set to begin at the Administration Building on December 11. Video of the performances will be posted online throughout the holiday season.

The tree will remain in the lobby throughout the holiday season.
