Trimble Tech Students, Teacher Honored for Photography

Fort Worth ISD’s Trimble Tech High School was recently awarded for its photography by the Association of Texas Photography Instructors (ATPI).

Six Trimble Tech students and their career technology education and commercial photography teacher, Shannon Oden, are among the 507 winners from Texas, California, Kansas, Missouri, Nevada New York and Utah selected at this year’s ATPI Fall Contest. On November 11, six judges considered more than 6,800 entries from across the nation. 

Some of the FWISD honorees were high school juniors with only eight weeks of formal training under the instruction of Oden.

The award-winning students from Trimble Tech High School are:

  • Advanced Fashion:  Breanna Barnaba, senior, Honorable Mention "Bubble Pop;"
  • Advanced Photo Story:  Breanna Barnaba, senior, Honorable Mention "Power;"
  • Beginner Animal: Alyzandra Rodriguez, junior, first place "Whiskers;"
  • Beginner Animal:  Abigail Diaz, junior, First Honorable Mention "Where Art Thou Romeo?;"
  • Beginner Architecture/Cityscape:  Michelle Samano, junior, third Place "Stroll;"
  • Beginner Architecture/Cityscape:  Emily Estrada, junior, Honorable Mention "Escalators;"
  • Beginner Still Life:  Emily Estrada, junior, Honorable Mention 'Straws;"
  • Faculty Single Image:  Overall Best of Show Shannon Oden "City Club;"
  • Faculty Single Image:  Shannon Oden, third Place "Star;"
  • Faculty Single Image:  Shannon Oden Honorable Mention for
    "Spider Mum 1", "Spider Mum 3" and "Sunrise on the Gulf Road."
