On Saturday, February 29, the South Hills' Theatre Department competed in the 2020 UIL One-Act Play competition with their show Disconnect. We are proud to announce that SHHS has won at the District OAP level for the fourth year in a row and will be advancing to Bi-District on March 25th at Mansfield Legacy High School.
The cast included five actors on stage in this play, and ALL five received an individual acting award! We are very proud of these students! Their awards are as follows:
Misael Alcala - Best Technician Award (Each show was given one technician award. This is Misa's second UIL show.)
Calip Brewer - Honorable Mention All Star Cast. (First time to be in a UIL play.)
Ximena Zumaya - Honorable Mention All Star Cast. (First time to be in any play!)
Ivan Rodriguez - All-Star Cast. (Has been in all four of the advancing UIL shows.)
Laura Vargas - All-Star Cast. (Third time to be in our advancing UIL shows.)
Francisco Caldera - Best Performer (Third UIL show, first Best Performer/top acting award)
Congratulations to the theater directors and these fine performers for this win!
