Multicultural Education Institute Extends Asynchronous Sessions Availability for Educators Through Sunday
(Tuesday, February 16, 2021) --The Multicultural Education Institute (MEI) is extending availability of its asynchronous sessions, and three additional sessions not previously listed, through 11:59 PM on Sunday, February 21. Fort Worth ISD teachers may earn up to 12 FLEX credits.
Hosted by FWISD’s Social Studies Department in partnership with TCU’s Department of Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies and College of Education, the fourth annual Multicultural Education Institute (MEI) is a three-day virtual event designed to equip District and non-FWISD educators with tools for delivering culturally responsive instruction.
MEI started Saturday, February 13, and live sessions ended Monday afternoon, February 15. Extreme weather conditions and widespread power outages across the state impacted registrants’ ability to attend and earn FLEX credits for these sessions. The FWISD MEI will extend the availability of all asynchronous sessions, and three additional sessions not previously listed through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, February 21. Asynchronous sessions will enable a teacher to earn up to 12 FLEX credits.
Additional information, including access points to asynchronous offerings, will be posted to the MEI event page at https://www.FWISD.org/MEI.
