TTHS Students, Staff Host Patriot Day Ceremony

Band at Patriot Day CeremonyOn Friday September 10, Trimble Tech JROTC hosted a Patriot Day ceremony marking the 20th anniversary of 9/11. The event was held in front of the school during the second class period of the day and lasted about 20 minutes.

JROTC SaluteMembers of the Bulldog Battalion coordinated the ceremony with a moment of silence for those of who lost their lives in the attack. Cadets Paula Luna, Ashley Martinez and Angela spoke during the ceremony. Commander of the platoon, Jonathan Mendez and Assistant Principal, Mr. Dehn carried a wreath to the flagpole. The wreath represents the unity and honor for those individuals that died on 9/11.

The Bulldog Band played the National Anthem while members cadets raised the American flag. Flag raising is a very important part of the ceremony, one cadet commanded while two others unfolded the flag and the rest saluted while the flag goes up and drops them when the anthem finishes. The Patriot Day ceremony was a success as teachers,  students and administrators were able to attend.
