District To Celebrate Campus Teachers of the Year Honorees This Week

Summary: Fort Worth ISD is honoring its 134 Campus Teachers of the Year recipients at a special after-school reception on Tuesday, April 2. The invitation-only event, hosted by Central Market and other community partners, will include the announcement of the 10 finalists for the elementary and secondary District Teachers of the Year awards.
Since 1985, community businesses and organizations have partnered with Fort Worth ISD to recognize outstanding classroom teachers in our District. One teacher from each school is selected by fellow teachers for the honor of 2018-2019 Campus Teacher of the Year.
Teachers selected are eligible to apply for the District Teacher of the Year award for elementary or secondary. Each of the two award winners receives an honorarium of $5,000 from Central Market. The eight finalists also receive an award of $1,000 from Central Market.
The Campus Teacher of the Year Reception will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Kimbell Art Museum’s Renzo Piano Pavilion, 3333 Camp Bowie Blvd. Entertainment will be provided by musicians from I.M. Terrell Academy for STEM and VPA’s String Orchestra, directed by Hunter Lewis.
