Significant Improvement Seen in Fort Worth ISD School Accountability Ratings

Based on the 2017 data to be issued by the Texas Education Agency, Fort Worth ISD has achieved the highest number of Met Standard campuses in the history of the current state accountability system. FWISD expects more campuses will be rated Met Standard and fewer campuses will be rated Improvement Required when official ratings are released by the Texas Education Agency. 


ACTUAL 2016 : 22 campuses Improvement Required

PROJECTED 2017 : 14 campuses Improvement Required

  • FWISD will be rated Met Standard exceeding targets for each index

  • 116 campuses will be rated Met Standard 

  • 14 campuses will be rated Improvement Required, including

    • 12 Elementary Schools:

      • Mitchell Blvd ES
      • Maudrie Walton ES
      • Sunrise-McMillian ES
      • I.M. Terrell ES
      • Clifford Davis ES

“This news represents a 36% decrease in the number of schools currently on the state’s Improvement Required list,” said Superintendent Kent P. Scribner. “While there is still work to be done, we cannot overlook the fact that 89% of our schools are achieving or exceeding the state standard. Well done, students, faculty, and staff!”

The fourteen (14) campuses listed below were rated Improvement Required in 2016; each of these campuses is expected to attain a Met Standard rating for 2017.

  • Daggett Middle School                   
  • Wedgwood 6th Grade Center         
  • Forest Oak Middle School
  • Handley Middle School
  • Morningside Middle School
  • Riverside Middle School
  • Jacquet Middle School
  • Leonard Middle School
  • Rosemont 6th Grade Center
  • Jean McClung Middle School
  • Daggett Elementary School
  • DeZavala Elementary School
  • Bill J. Elliott Elementary School

Official ratings will be released by the Texas Education Agency on or before next Tuesday, August 15, via their public website.
