FWISD Give Us Your Best Shot Campaign Kicks Off With An Early Learner Vaccination Clinic
Fort Worth ISD, through the Give Us Your Best Shot campaign, aims to provide resources for families looking to receive vital summer immunization information ahead of the 2023-2024 school year.
This year, a special Early Learner Vaccination Clinic for pre-K and kindergarten students will lead the list of scheduled events. The clinic, in collaboration with Tarrant County Public Health, will be located at Victory Forest Community Center (3427 Hemphill St.) on June 3 from 9 am to 1 pm. Parents and guardians of non-insured young students needing shots to meet the State’s minimum school vaccination requirements are encouraged to attend.
To expedite the vaccination process, fill out a quick form from the following link: https://tinyurl.com/2xj86935. Please bring your child’s most recent shot records and birth certificate to the event, if available. CHIP and Medicaid are accepted, otherwise, each vaccine will cost $8.
The State’s minimum requirements for immunizations are listed below:
- Diphtheria/tetanus/pertussis
- Polio
- Measles/mumps/rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Meningococcal
- Hepatitis A
Not only will families leave with a healthy start to the new school year, but they will also receive a Pre-K and Kindergarten canvas bag of coloring books, stickers, and reading materials.
In addition to the clinic on June 3, the Immunization Collaboration of Tarrant County has organized a series of vaccination clinics throughout the summer. These additional clinics, available for all grade levels, will be held at various locations and dates, providing flexibility for families to choose the most convenient time and place to get their children vaccinated.
