FWISD Students to Participate in Stock Show Festivities
Students from multiple Fort Worth ISD programs will participate in the annual Fort Worth Stock Show All Western Parade Saturday, January 13. Additionally, groups are slated to participate in the Fort Worth Junior Livestock Show.
The parade, the kickoff to the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, will start at 11 a.m. at the corner of Weatherford and Main streets and end at Houston and Bluff streets.
Among the District student groups participating are:
- Western Hills High School Band
- Benbrook High School Band
- D. Wyatt High School Band
- North Side High School Band
- Carter-Riverside Eagle Band
- Arlington Heights High School Band
- South Hills Scorpion Band
Held the first Saturday of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, the All Western Parade draws more than 100,000 spectators downtown for a unique event with multiple wagons and horses but no motorized vehicles.
Over the course of the Stock Show and Rodeo, 50 Arlington Heights High School FFA members will exhibit their animal and agricultural mechanic projects in the Fort Worth Junior Livestock Show as well as give tours to elementary-aged children.
The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo runs from January 12 to February 3.
