Fort Worth ISD Forward: Rosemont Elementary Drive-Through Roundup Set for September 3
Rosemont Elementary School is kicking off the new academic year on a bright note with an exciting back-to-school roundup for families from 8 -11 a.m. Thursday, September 3.
Organized by Principal Nakita Brewer, and her long-time partners at University Christian Church and Kids Hope Ministry, the roundup -- taking place on the school parking lot -- offers students and their families support for a successful school year while complying with health and safety protocols for minimizing the spread of COVID-19. Rosemont Elementary School is located at 1401 W. Seminary Drive in Fort Worth.
University Christian Church is providing free school supplies and uniform polo shirts for every child. The University of North Texas Pediatric Unit is offering free immunizations and fresh and canned food are being provided by Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB). Information about city resources, voter registration and the 2020 Census will also be available at the event.
School-spirit shirts and delicious snacks will be available for sale by the school PTO. Refreshing Kona Ice cones will also be sold.
South Hills High School cheerleaders are also slated to participate, showing pride for the South Hills pyramid.
The COVID-19 pandemic and recent tragic events prompting calls and discussions for social justice has impacted this nation in various ways the last six months. In the midst of these difficulties, passionate schools and religious leaders in Fort Worth are seeking to embrace the beginning of the school year with the same enthusiasm and hope seen in previous years. Fort Worth ISD starts school, Tuesday, September 8 with online learning the first four weeks.
“In this time of uncertainty and especially now, I want our families to know that there is one thing they can count on, and it is that Rosemont is here for them,” Ms. Brewer said. “Our theme for this year is ‘Moving from Good to Great,’ and being together as one is the first step to it.”
Fort Worth ISD appreciates the support of our parents, the community, faith leaders and staff. A special thanks to Rosemont Elementary Drive-Through Roundup partners: the University Christian Church; Kids Hope Ministry; UNT Pediatric Unit; TAFB; City of Fort Worth and State Rep. Ramon Romero, who is donating water and ice for the event.
