Multiple FWISD Student Athletes Qualify for State Track And Field Meet
(Thursday, April 29, 2021) -- More than a dozen Fort Worth ISD student-athletes have qualified for the 2021 University Interscholastic League Track and Field State Meet May 6-8 in Austin.
The District will be represented in Conference 4A, 5A and 6A at the state meet, which is being hosted at the Mike A. Myers Stadium on the University of Texas campus. Limited tickets to attend the state meet are now available here.
Class 4A events are slated for May 6 followed by Class 5A and 6A on May 7 and 8, respectively.
Students who medaled at recent regional meets qualified for the state finals. The state qualifiers representing FWISD in Austin May 6-8 are:
Arlington Heights – 5A
Dionna James, Girls Shot Put (Gold medalist at region)
Benbrook – 4A
Dontre Sinegal, Boys Triple Jump (Gold medalist at region)
Jayla Davila, Sayla Wofford, Danika Washington, Bailey Watson, Girls 4x200-meter relay, (Silver medalist at region)
Madison Sorrell, Girls Discus, (Bronze medalist at region, wild-card state qualifier)
Dunbar – 4A
Dariante Hall, Boys 100-meter dash (gold medalist at region); Boys 200-meter dash (silver medalist at region)
Paschal – 6A
Will Marshall, Boys 400-meter (silver medalist at region)
Trimble Technical – 5A
Kenondra Davis, Girls 100-meter dash, (gold medalist at region); Girls 200-meter dash, (gold medalist at region). Kenondra set a new region meet record in both events, 11.54 seconds and 23.34 seconds, respectively.
Wyatt – 5A
Avia Trammell, Lauren Brown, Javia Lane, Arianna McCurin, Girls 4x100-meter relay (silver medalist at region)
Jazmin Barber, Lauren Brown, Avia Trammell, Arianna McCurin, Girls 4x200-meter relay silver medalist at region)
