The Southwest High School Student Council hosted its annual Pyramid Angel Tree Holiday Celebration Wednesday, December 12. A total of 36 speciall-selected students from Southwest High’s feeder campuses, Hazel Harvey Peace, Bruce Shulkey, Woodway and JT Stevens Elementary Schools received gifts from various student organizations and groups.

“They try to provide them with the holiday that they might not otherwise have,” said Richard Johnson, a FWISD family communications specialist.

Nine disadvantaged students from each pyramid elementary school are “adopted” by Southwest high classes organizations and groups to receive gifts valued up to $75. Elementary counselors communicate with parents of the “adopted” children to determine their wants and needs.
