Ahead of its big performance at the Texas Music Educators Association Convention, the Men’s Ensemble from Fort Worth ISD’s Paschal High School will perform a free local concert.
The choir will take the stage at 7 p.m. at the Kimbell Art Museum's Recital Hall, Tuesday, February 5. The show titled “This Is My Song” celebrates diversity through music of various world traditions including Mexico, Pakistan, Germany, Estonia and Finland.
The ensemble will become the District’s first choir performing at the Texas Music Educators Association Convention when it takes the stage next week.
The ensemble is among a select group of choirs performing at the 2019 convention this February in San Antonio.
“This coveted invitation is only extended to 12 ensembles across the state of Texas each year, and only two men’s ensembles are invited,” said Dinah Menger, FWISD’s director of choral and elementary music. “This invitation is the first for any Fort Worth ISD choral program in the history of the District.”
Under the direction of Mr. Nathan Benavides and Mrs. Trevlyn Nipper, the Men’s Ensemble is slated to perform at 7 p.m., Thursday, February 14 at San Antonio’s Henry B. González Convention Center.
