The ceremony and reception, sponsored by the District and Lockheed Martin Aeuronatics, recognizes students who completed their sophomore year of high school with a GPA of 3.8 or better. Honorees inducted into the distinguished club receive a sweatshirt with the initials of their high school, its academic banner and the student’s personal monogram on the sleeve.

Wyatt JROTC, entertainment from the North Side High School Mariachi Espuelas de Plata and a one-tenth-scale model of Lockheed Martin’s F-35 on display. Orlando Sanchez Jr., vice president of F-22 Programs for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is the ceremony’s guest speaker.
