Lowery Road First Grader Sworn In As Fort Worth Police Officer

Adriana Nixon, a first grader at Fort Worth ISD’s Lowery Road Elementary School, is an honorary Fort Worth police officer. adriana

The 6-year old was sworn in as an honorary officer by Fort Worth Police, Thursday January 9, in a special ceremony at the Bob Bolen Public Safety Complex. Additionally, Adriana rode in a patrol car, practiced with the department’s SWAT team, handled a K-9 officer and took a flight in FWPD's Air One helicopter over the Fort Worth Zoo with her sibling.

The first grader was diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma in July 2019 and is currently undergoing treatment. It’s been her dream to become a Fort Worth police officer.
