Diamond Hill-Jarvis High School alumnus Ollie “Babe” Garza recently shared his message of tragedy and triumph at a signing event for his new book.
“Why Not Me? 8 Keys To Turning Tragedy Into Triumph,” is Mr. Garza’s story of acceptance following a 1978 high school football injury that left him paralyzed and permanently in a wheelchair. Mr. Garza is a 1978 DH-J graduate.
“If there was one thing that was a game changer for me, it was when I learned to embrace the process,” he writes in his book. “For so many of us today, we want the results without the required work, but it’s in the work that we learn the most.
